Introducing you to Rules and Regulations course

New Course – Rules and Regulations Impacting Financial Advisory Services

While scandals exist in all sectors, the financial industry is especially hard hit whenever misconduct by a financial institution or financial representative is reported to the public. As a service industry that is highly dependent on customer’s trust, the reputation of the entire industry can become tarnished. And according to the 2019 Edelman Trust Barometer report, financial services remain the least-trusted sector at 57% trust.

This is why having strong regulations are important, so that the general population can be assured their interests are protected, and that financial professionals are kept accountable for their actions.

MAS recognised this need, and had created an Enforcement Department to detect, investigate and take enforcement actions for breaches of laws and regulations administered by MAS. Any institutions or representatives found to be in breach of these regulations will face legal consequences.

In this course, you will go through:

  • The regulatory and supervisory structure for financial advisory services.
  • The pertinent rules and regulations concerning financial advisory services.
  • What financial representatives are expected to do to comply with the relevant rules and regulations including their role in managing conduct risks.
  • The consequences of not complying with the rules and regulations.

This course is IBF – FTS and Core FAA/SFA accredited with 5.5 core CPD hours.
